Their name is confusing, because sweet potatoes have nothing to do with our „normal“ well known potato. Although they got „potato“ in their name they belong to the family of root vegetables, like carrots and parsnips.
Sweet potatoes are rich in vitamin A, C, E and B6. On top those sweet roots contain important minerals like manganese, folic acid, copper, potassium and iron.
But not only because of their richness of minerals are sweet potatoes so healthy.
They are fat- and gluten-free by nature.
